Fortunately, unlike art and biology, the definition of skepticism is relatively easy. I have seen skepticism defined as "an attitude of doubt or a disposition to incredulity either in general or toward a particular object." But, in my opinion, this is not adequate. My definition of a skeptic is an open-minded person who requires evidence prior to belief. This doesn't mean that skeptics lack some basic, unprovable, assumptions. A scientific skeptic believes in reproducible results and rejects supernatural suppositions as unprovable (at least, so far!). Without evidence there is only conjecture. If you truly believe that you can prove the existence of psychic phenomena, then I suggest you prove it to the James Randi Educational Foundation and collect your million dollar prize. Good luck.
